Show Program and Leasing
Benchmark Equestrian has worked to acquire a high-quality string of experienced lease horses. On an annual basis, the Benchmark team assists riders in transitioning from our extended lesson program and matching them to the best suited lease horse that will continue their development and set them up for success in the ring.
Off-Property Schooling Shows
Benchmark Equestrian offers students the opportunity to attend a select number of off-property schooling shows, giving students the opportunity to compete against riders outside of their existing peer group. The series we attend allow students the opportunity to work towards year-end awards in their respective divisions.
Extended Lesson Program
It is both a large time and financial commitment to move into the competitive world of horseshowing. As an introduction to this very different and often misunderstood facet of the industry, Benchmark Equestrian offers an extended lesson program that allows students to receive more technical lessons in smaller groups on more challenging horses.
The extended program prepares students for the challenges they may face in a competitive setting by providing instruction specifically geared to emulate this environment.
Lesson groups are comprised of riders participating in the program and riders are mounted on the selected school horse they will be showing. The extended lesson program is a four-month commitment. The program begins mid-May, riders are asked to express their interest no later than March 1st. This program requires students to commit to a minimum of two jumping lessons and one flat ride per week.
The extended lesson program allows students to participate at the Silver Series horse shows at Caledon Equestrian Park on Benchmark Equestrian’s competitive school horses. The extended lesson program is subject to availability and horse/rider suitability.

At the appropriate time, students may transition out of the riding school and into Benchmark Equestrian’s show program. Students have the choice to lease a horse owned by Benchmark Equestrian that they wish to show on the Ontario “A” circuit that will be boarded and trained out of Benchmark Equestrian.
Benchmark Equestrian offers a personalized program for each competition horse and arranges training with our resident “A” circuit trainer.

Many of Benchmark Equestrian’s lesson horses are show quality and can be taken to both local and ‘A’ Circuit horse shows. Participating in any level of competition is a great way to immerse yourself in the equestrian community and the perfect way to spend you summers outdoors!
